Barbatus Cory (Scleromystax barbatus) also known as the banded or bearded cory is native to the coastal outfalls from Rio de Janeiro to Santa Catarina, Brazil. They are a peaceful, bottom feeder, community fish. Males color up nicely when in breeding. This species thrives in groups of 6 or more. This is one of the larger corys. Adults can grow to 4" long. They prefer cooler temperatures that range between 66-74 degrees.
