of Pseudomugil ivantsoffi / Blue eye Dwarf Rainbowfish

The Pseudomugil ivantsoffi, or Ivantsoff's blue-eye Dwarf Rainbow, is a species of blue-eye from the subfamily Pseudomugilinae, and endemic to Western Papua in Indonesia in shallow, slow flowing streams in dense rainforest. This species was named in honor of the ichthyologist Walter Ivantsoff. The mature males have a semitransparent body often with a bluish or redish hue, bright blue eyes, with red coloration on the dorsal, caudal, and anal fins. Females are also semitransparent but lack the bright red colorations of the male. As with most semitransparent fish, lighting and tank surroundings can make a huge difference in coloration. The Ivantsoffi at maturity can reach 1.75" to 2" in length. The fish you receive will be juveniles with coloration not fully developed.
